The Mens 3rds had their first win of he calendar year against North Kildare in the re-fixed quarter final of the Intermediate Cup. The team was bolstered by the return from injury of David Duggan plus Gareth Davis and Guy Banton who scored two goals after deciding the previous week that family weddings came before league matches! The best moment of the day for the supporters were the ballet moves of Davy McFeely, whose interpretation of the tragic dying motions of the princess in Swan Lake resulted in throwing himself across the goals and flailing unsuccessfully at the ball as it moved out of sight. Luckily he made up for this and scored later ... a great goal at the 4th attempt. The scoring was completed by Mattie Ralph. This was a good result in a tight game, as the previous league meeting a few weeks earlier resulted in a draw.
The team now progress to the Intermediate Semi next weekend (without the aid of a prescription) against high flying Glennane.
