The trip to the provinces for the 12 disciples had a early few cry offs, and the excuses were a little flimsy (a late lunch, an early Christmas party, another phantom lecture but at least one had a hockey excuse - considering one player on the day was back from long Covid - the excuses did seem ...light).
The trip itself was full of the unexpected - from chasing Garda speedboats on the motorway, light houses on the roundabouts to self propelled Christmas trees to the most bizarre of all ..country town parking on a Saturday!
Oh ,,, the match itself was relatively uneventful, a good, clean game where the league leaders won at home. It was finely balanced at 2-1, but unfortunately they scored the next goal and the result wasn't in further doubt.
The joy of a provincial league ..is that there is a trip to Navan next week... but hopefully we don't have to go past the airport this time.
PS .. Note to self, when you tell your other half you just scored in Enniscorthy ..it won't always get the desired response, especially if you arrive home late.
