Family goals

We've found a new way to get scorers (get their family to watch the match).

Simon and Conor both scored (and parents and children were there to see), the relationships were obvious,but there was obvious pride on both sides... and they scored last week in the shoot out... let's hope the pattern continues as we remain unbeaten since November. It must be Jake's turn next week.

The late Jack did not have as long to score, but Conor diving at the near post (with those knees) and Simon rediscovering the ease of scoring, did get us off to a great start. PW going down to 10 players may have had something to so with it,and even still we had to survive a late scare when Neil decided to give them a chance (next time we insist he bring his family). Tim needs a new club as the 7 iron he was used was putting the ball a little high....but they were great crosses, but not sure heading the ball is as expected in hockey as it is in hockey. Gordy took a few knocks,but her got up again...he's tough and his knees are probably artificial anyway.

We didn't manage to get a short corner and last quarter was scary as they threw everything to get back into it, but Dylan particularly settled into the role positionally and kept the old fellow on their feet . We defended enough short corners to deserve the win.

We still need to work on the Quiet Man,he needs to face the short corners... facing the other way is unexpected ..enough said. Training on a Thursday night needs to ratchet it up, as this winning feeling is infectious.

To finish off the nigh there were old ghosts (and not first of the month in the bottle tower), an opera with Homer (no not that one) and Penelope was unexpected ... but definitely different - Saturday nights are never predictable. But the winning feeling pertains.
