Ladies 1s topping the table with a 2-0 victory!

A big performance was needed by the reds away against Alex this week to keep their spot at the top of the table. Alex have been impressive so far this season, but Corinthians were confident in their growth since August.

Alex started the first 15 minutes looking more threatening with several chances saved by an Impressive Rebecca Murtagh between the posts. Corinthians soon settled into their game plan and started linking some nice play between defence and midfield. Hannah McKay's smart outletting from defence gave Lauren McGrane a clear channel to use her skill with a clinical finish from the left side. 1-0 to Corinthians going into the break.

Alex came back fighting at the start of the second half as expected, with Rebecca Murtagh displaying some more outstanding saves, helped by a solid performance by Sarah Coleman. There was an equal share of chances from both sides for most of the half. However, with 10 minutes to go, Jess McGrane netted an absolute rocket reverse shot from a short corner. 2-0 Corinthians. The reds defended smartly until the final whistle and took all 3 points to keep them at the top of the table. They now look to next week against Mucross.
