Comprehensive win for Ladies 1s.

Corinthian L1s got back to their best today with a 3-0 win over Avoca.

It was a very wet day, which caused the pitch to have some surface water in patches. CHC girls needed to adjust their outletting to suit the conditions and did so effortlessly. The first 15mins was spent in Avoca's half, with CHC throwing everything at the goal. Avoca's GK was called in to action early and often, pulling off a lot of top drawer saves.

CHC kept their patience and with a nice move, started out wide right, Lynne Pomeroy slipped skillfully into the D to find Jessica McGrane who smartly beat the Avoca GK at her near post to break the deadlock.
CHC stayed patient in the build up and again found a way through Avoca's back line. This time it was McGrane who assisted Caoimhe Proud-Murphy for the second goal. 2-0 at half time.

Avoca came out fighting in the second half and created a handful of chances. The ever reliable Rebecca Murtagh was called into action and made some nice saves.

The 3rd goal came against the run of play, a quick counter found Laura Motyer slip a beautiful reverse stick pass through to u16 star Nicola Torrans for a 1v1 with the Avoca GK, who was having a superb game.
You could forgive such an inexperienced player like Torrans to stumble in her first 1v1 at Div 1 level, but she proved that she's a class act by calmly rounding the GK, then brushing off a covering defender's tackle and slotting into an empty net for her first senior goal. First of many, and taken like a seasoned pro.

At 3-0 Corinthian took control again and with some excellent interlink play between the forwards, created more chances, which once again were saved by the player of the match, Avoca's GK.

Corinthian now turn their attention to two league fixtures in a week, with Our Lady's on Wednesday and Glenanne on Saturday.

Six points are a must if CHC are to stay in the title race.
