CHC show great spirit to beat Glenanne

Corinthian got the 3 points needed in a tough game against Glenanne.
A first half goal from Alanah Quinsey was the only goal of the game, which came from good attacking pressure by Corinthians.
The first half went on without too many other goal chances for either side, with Glenanne only getting 3 circle entries in the half -- 11 to Corinthian.
From the 11 entries, CHC earned a few short corners, with one resulting in an excellent goal line save by Glenanne to prevent Jess McGrane from a rocketed shot at the top of the D.

CHC knew a big second half performance was needed to secure the victory.
In the second half Glenanne had some good moments, but ultimately could not convert a goal. Some good defending from CHC was the difference.
The final 15mins of the game really came to life, CHC had a disallowed goal, and two penalty stroke claims denied. Frustration from the bench led to Leigh Pelow (who was captain at the time on the pitch) receive a stern warning from umpires for the coaching staffs reactions.
That wasn't the only run-in with the umpires for the CHC girls, who found themselves down to 9 players at one point, after tallying up 2 greens and a 10min yellow for Hannah McKay in the half.
The victory was a good one when all was said and done, it took great character for the young CHC team to come through so much adversity against a team known for their fighting spirit.
