2018 started with a win for Corinthian Ladies 1s, but not in the manner they would have wanted.
A blistering start saw Lauren McGrane score a goal from close range after a well worked move, just two mins and thirty seconds into the tie.
CHC's intent and intensity dropped a little after that and they struggled to get a real tight grip on the game again. The result was never truly in doubt, with the majority of penalty corners and chances falling to CHC. Some excellent number one running from Loreto caused havoc on CHC's corner routines.
CHC left with the next round in the JP Cup secured, but the team were disappointed with their overall performance. Post Christmas cobwebs have now gone and the team switch attention back to a league fixture against Our lady's on Wednesday night.
