On a wet and miserable afternoon the Ladies 1’s won 2-0 against Monkstown in Rathdown.
The first half was very even with CHC having a few chances, the best of which fell to Jodie Douglas whose shot required a good save by the Monkstown keeper.
Monkstown started Q3 brightly earning their first penalty corner of the match from the hit off and forcing an excellent save from goalkeeper Holly Micklem. After a period of sustained pressure and some good work by Camila Arbulo, CHC were awarded a penalty corner in 42nd minute which Jessica McGrane converted.
CHC continued to pile on the pressure with some excellent runs by Lauren McGrane and Ciara Vincent. The 2nd goal followed soon after when a pass by Jessica McGrane found Laura Motyer on the left who crossed for Nicola Torrans to score.
CHC continued to play well in the final quarter to secure a well earned win.
Overall, it was a solid team performance which should give the girls great confidence going into a double weekend next week - Away to Glenanne in Div 1 on Saturday and Home to Cork C of I, in EYHL2 on Sunday afternoon.
