Ladies 2s snatch a last minute winner to go through to cup final

Ladies 2's produced another great performance, this time against UCD 3's in the semi final of the cup, winning 2-1 which puts them into the final at the end of April.

Corinthians started the brighter of the two teams, keeping the ball well between their back four and springing several promising counter attacks through the likes of Isabelle Maleady, Emily Keally and Rachel Lynch. UCD battled well however and the half ended 0-0.

In the second half UCD came out pressing hard, forcing a few corners and eventually forcing a goal to make it 1-0. This however seemed to kick-start Corinthians who immediately got a goal back to make it 1-1. Crash ball from Maebh Browne was picked up by Charlotte Stapleton whose initial shot was blocked but Lynn Fletcher put the rebound away.

Corinthians then managed to keep their cool in the last few minutes working the ball well from left back all the way to the baseline of the opposition D, with Lynn Fletcher and Isabelle Maleady forcing a short corner.

With the final whistle gone it was Isabelle Maleady who stepped up to fire home from the top D to make it 2-1 and put the Reds into the final.
