An excellent away win today for the U14 boys over our closest neighbours and friendly rivals Three Rock Rovers. TRR took the lead after 10 minutes with an excellent goal that evaded defenders Luke Caldwell, Oscar Comerford, Marco Trolese, and Jack Younge, leaving goalie Jude O Dwyer on his own, and despite his best efforts in it went. However, the lads kept their heads up and soon equalized when a prefectly positioned Micah Switzer slipped one past the Three Rock keeper to leave the half time score 1-1. The second half was equally close but Corinthians took the lead 1-2 when a terrific cross from Gonzalo Plaza Ferreira enabled Ethan Black to slam one home. TRR soon equalized but another lovely goal, again from Ethan Black, just a few minutes from full time, left the final score 2-3 to Corinthians. Some terrific saves from Jude O Dwyer today who was often under a lot of pressure, but great play from all the lads and congratulations on a well deserved win!
Our thanks to Three Rock for having us and providing some great opposition.
