CHC Men's 2nd XI lost their opening game of the league campaign on Saturday.
The reds got off to a great start and dominated most of the first half opening up a two goal lead. Goals came from Stephen Reid who calmly slotted home into the bottom left corner on the reverse. Then, from a short corner Robbie Clarke sponged a neat finish into the net with the keeper grounded following a save from a drag flick.
Rovers however came back into it late in the first half getting one back and leaving the score at 2-1 at half-time.
The Reds opened the second half brightly again, however Rovers started to impose themselves more in the game hitting the post and narrowly missing a couple of other opportunities. They finally got their equaliser mid-way through the second half and the winner came with 10 minutes to go.
Despite the defeat a number of reds had impressive games including Robbie Clarke, Tom Gibbs and Henry Ellis. The 2s will be hoping to get off the mark in the league away to Pembroke next Saturday.
