CHS Mens' 3rds 1 vs 0 Mullingar 1st

It was a case of last minute heroics for the 3rds as they scored with less that 4 mins remaining. In a very tight match the difference in the end was Cormac Benn using his head while defending a ball off the post, not many players would have defended it quite the same way. There was some superb defending in the game with several goal line clearances and many saves by Alan in goals, Dan Griffin had lots of scope to attack on the right and led to several chances and short corners being created. It was good to see Tom McNulty back and two of the colts section were making their debut, with both Conal and Dan performing well. In the end it was the Mullingar dropping back that allowed sweeper Dara Crowe to advance unmarked into the circle and score the only goal of the game, in a game that could have gone either way.
