Miles Ahead

The first match of 2022 eventually went the way of the Reds...
Miles Warren made a welcome return and did help stabilize the middle of the pitch and Jake Tipping also made his debut, while Marco scored his debut goal.
A late call up was needed to fill the goalie spot and Moose stood up and got the job done (including having to save from his own players - not a word, Neil!)
After a few mis-firing short corners, eventually Frank flicked low and hard to break the deadlock, but almost immediately Clontarf scored from their next short corner (from a mis-hit), otherwise the defense was good from the corners (a big hand to Macker and Moose).
We did start to take control of the game and an overhead past 2 defenders and was then passed around the keeper to Marco, who was in the right position for a straightforward tap-in.
To calm the nerves, the youngsters had all the glory in the next goal, with a great finish from Ryan to seal the game off.
To debrief and analyse the game, the discussion moved to 1884 - deja vu all over again.
