And Moose gives the game the thumbs up

A great result (for the 3rds - not the Irish rugby, who were playing at the same time). A late start due to the 1sts result against Garvey was acceptable.
Since I was one of the invisible men (who couldn't show up that late -the Cinderella complex) this report is like all others previously - only loosely based on fact. Some of the invisible men turned up earlier for other teams to keep it all in the club - reports available elsewhere of their contributions. I did travel to some warm weather training in Belfast on Sunday..but the quality of the session on Sunday was much affected by the quality of the sessions of both Friday and Saturday night ... How times have changed - Friday nights used to be a thing - they will again - and hockey will suffer!
Garbled messages about the game from the club house (the real one not the alternate - the BH) did make their way through eventually to foreign lands.
A team with experience in the back and youth up front and a return for Miles & Neil T did give a balanced look - but you can be sure El Presidente unbalanced it from the sideline. Rotating the young forwards like Alistair, Jake, Jack, Caleb, & Marco on a weekly basis can't be easy.
Guest on the day -Ross Willis did create the first goal which Miles tapped in at the back post. Rumour even has it that we got a 2nd ... but reports at that stage were hazy (or the lights were out of order - or the on-pitch reporter has a head like a sieve - his words - not mine.
PW did come back into it, and scored once with 5 mins to go, but we held on for the win and mid-table respectability.

Moose decided he wanted to be a hero and put his body on the line -- well his thumb anyway and managed to make a magnificent save from a drag flick and managed to break his finger in 10 places with 47 stitches - only slight exaggeration there - maybe he wanted to get one last use out of the VHI clinic near home - before it moves out the country -other side of the M50 at least!
Imagine training next week - an angry and sore moose when the painkillers wear off - going to be a slight to behold (and heard).
