We've Killed Kenny (just about)

Contrary to rumour, reports are not written contemporaneously .. it needs time for reflection (a pint or two), interrogations after a cold shower (blame the engineer for not setting the right program) .. the bright lights of the dressing room and a bottle or two or wine..just to uncover the truth of how the match unfolded. Reality has little to do with match reports.

Unexpectedly late call up resulted in lots of activity on Saturday - but right decisions all around.

The 10 men of Killkenny frustrated us for most of this game. Ciaran was in form in goals and kept us in the game long enough to get going.
By half time it was still 0-0 but we weren't panicking, the master tactician had a plan, some of it to umpire the game and the rest to sit on the bench ... if not missing open goals (but he did score later). He did pick a solid backline who won't be mentioned as they conceded no goals.
Luckily Jack likes playing against Killkenny and scored again this time in the 3rd quarter, after a good team move, switched right to left at the back and up the left wing via Dylan (Marco .. welcome back) to Marco and eventually into Jack.. who disguised the shot by mis-hitting it...genius)
Conor was having fun in center of the field by having a choice of passes left or right ...and ending up in passing into the middle, but we will only focus on positives, as he would say himself. Ewan was saving himself and served the team well by scoring and then umpiring the last quarter.
But the rotations in the forwards continued to work and chances did fall to Simon, Jacob, Jake & Ben ...but 2 goals was enough, we had killed Kenny. And into mid table respectability.

The engineer is being severely questioned at present and if there are no hot showers next Thursday after training, may possibly not be selected ever again.
But the cold showers do encourage players to give information on other players mistakes .. which of course will never be mentioned in a match report ... so maybe that is deliberate.

And now for a break .. scheduling officially is for end of Jan..but refixtures may come into play.
