The Dead Zone

Once the dam broke (unbeaten spell)..then it continued.

The whiff of death initially was thought to the unwashed gear from the day before (you know who you are) ... nor was it from the graveyard that over looks the pitch in Sutton ... but the end of the unexpected cup run.

A few new faces and a few old ones returned (who says you can['t teach an old dog new tricks? he was running around like a young fella), the curious situation of suddenly having two Luke's was easy to deal with as the most regular comment was 'well played Luke'.

The game started badly (traffic was terrible on the way - but the sun was shining over Dublin bay), we conceded twice in the first quarter and it seemed like it would be a bad day at the office, a 3rd goal around halftime didn't help ..but the Master had plans - with most people playing their 2nd (or in some cases 3rd) matches in 2 days he went back to basics and the game turned a little, the army reserves again managing to score (he's wasted in goals!).
3-1 down going in to the last quarter, we had made a game of it and kept pushing and attacking but unfortunately that was it. The dead did not arise and appear to many.
Now it is back to mid-table respectability to see out the season....so close, but ..no cigar
