Dribs and Drabs#

When I was let out to see a hockey match after Covid restrictions were lifted a bit, I watched CHC firsts v UCD. On the way home I noticed the Farmers Cottage had been demolished. Many a chat I had with said farmer late after training on Tuesday and Thursdays in the 90s when he used to lock up the clubhouse. Dave ? I think his name was some of our older readers will know his name. I think there may have been a farm there before Kilmacshogue Golf Club was created with sheep and Philip Shaw roaming the wildernesses around Whitechurch Park.

Unfortunately we weren't able to field a team in Wilson's Hospital last week. Speaking of hospital a couple of fellas, that put a few in there, were back this week aka Victor O'Shea and Pat Boylan.

The team arrived in dribs and drabs right up until tip being soaked by the sprinklers. Ten minutes before tip we had ten. Not good enough.Eventually we had 14.

From the first match we only had 6 of the same players and the new formation had many struggling.

The young guns Jacob Minehane and Micah Switzer combined for the opener in the first quarter which was a scrappy affair. Dublin North only had 10.

Billy O'Riordan Ronan Pelow and Andy "ZZ Top" Kidd were also back in the fold, easing themselves in.

By half time the reds were 2 up with Alastair McWilliam adding a 2nd.

Ed Bourke was showing a lot of energy all over the shop. Justin van de Spuy was controlling the screen.

McWilliam added a 2nd with Simon Comerford scoring also in the 2nd half
.
The elder lemons at the back kept their incontinence diapers clean.

There may be quarters now but they seem to get longer as the game goes on

So the fourths remain top of the league.

Here ended the 2nd lesson
