If it ain't broke don't fix it

If it ain't broke don't fix it. The absentee Landlord (skipper) returned to find the Tenants had wrecked the joint. I played with a badminton partner for 20 years Joe Wright. I loved playing with him as he was a competitor and was never beaten. We would find a way to win often beating oppo better than us. Sometimes the shuttle would be in rag order with hardly any feathers on it and Joe would be mad to change it. But we were winning because the shuttle was flying slower or was wobbling. I would say don't touch that dial, keep her lit, in other words don't change the shuttle. We won many games this way. We were known as Batman and Robin in the trade. So when I learnt we changed our formation in the last game after winning our first two games and drawing a match away using a particular formation, and when I left instructions for the team to play the same away again one was not amused. So after the nosebleeds of leaving the leavy suburbs of D16 for the wilds of Westmeath Reds 4ths welcomed the Rane to the high velte. Normal service was resumed. After the typical scrappy opening quarter the team settled and after an initial shot by Geyser Simon Comerford scored. But not long later Portrane equalised with yours truly being tripped with out the ball but Dallaglio failed to notice this. After regrouping at half time and after The Saint putting a bit of light on the subject Chc saw what they were doing. Geyser got a great reverse goal inside the back post where a good striker should be Andy Kidd involved in a turnover to set him up. 2-1 up going into the 3rd quarter. Guy added a third and when Billy fastened on to a ball at the top of the d it was 4-1. With Ed Bourke putting a great shift in mid field and the team hounding the oppo on the ball it was great quarter. In the last quarter with Codgerville running on empty a soft 2nd goal was conceded. But in the last minute Hey Jude O'Dwyer made a crucial double save to keep the two goal. The moral of the story if it ain't broke don't fix it. Wickla away next week a handy one for Geyser.
