Where the Bleep are they tribe?

40,000 in a crowd and a pigeon shat on me. My grandfather was a beekeeper. He became immune to the bee's sting because he had been stung so many times and used to have them crawling on his arms. He also raced pigeons. When he would go to Croke Park to support Wexford Hurlers he would sneak a pigeon in under his coat. At half time he would write the score of the match on a piece of paper and attach it to a little ring on the pigeons leg and release it. The pigeon would fly home to Enniscorthy and they would have the half time score at home. In order words the message got there.
Nowadays despite the many ways of communicating such as phone, text, email, WhatsApp, facebook messenger, tick tock and twitter communication has worsened. So the wonders of Pitchero informed us that we had 15 players plus an umpire going to bed on Friday night. By tip off time the following morning at 11.30 am we had 11 players and an umpire. It is very difficult as a captain to plan a team when you think certain people are playing but c'est la vie.
During the week we had 3 goalies but on match day we had none. Justin van der Spuy had to rummage in sheds and eventually find gear and helped us out again well done Justin. As a result we had a delayed start. Town had come to town up the mountain for a summit of the table clash. It was icey at the summit but CHC was the one that took the slide.
Both teams were of a similar ilk with a mixture of codgers and youth. Despite the early disorganisation the 4s started brightly. They welcomed Tim King (aka TK). Ah do remember the oul bottles of TK red lemonade. Our TK is not red but getting a few grey ones with the arrival of a young one. Explains my baldness. The Reds had a few early chances and Town were dangerous on the break which was the story of the game. At the end of the first quarter it was 0-0. At the start of the 2nd quarter Town were in front with a cross coming into the circle and a tackle with the ball ricocheting into the net. Not long later after a flowing move CHC were level with a similar goal. Dylan Dickson Santos crosssed the ball with Jacob Michane getting a touch with Guy Banton diving in for a 50/50 and the ball ricocheting into the net. Corinthians were dominating play but then a cross field ball in our own half was intercepted and the young guns of town linked up and we were 2-1 down at half time.
Third quarter the reds tried to up the anti but again not learning their lesson another cross field pass was picked up and the turnover lead to a cross which was touched in at the back post. 3-1 down. Town had gone to town on turnovers. As in the match against Wicklow the speed and accuracy of passing left a lot to be desired. CHC had a numerous of good chances to equalise especially from corners. Despite a lot of huffing a puffing the 4s were not able to get a pawhold back into the game and Town ended up deserved winners.

So hears hoping for Royal Terrace away on the grass in the return, the ball being hit out through the gap in the railings and you going out on to the road after it, with studs, like Bambi on ice.

So its time to turkey up and fatten up for (the C word) so there is more of you to go round in the tackle and you are stronger in the tackle. But I know us athletes will be pounding the beach of Sandymount strand. Next game bring your passport and covid vaccination cert it is Trinity away on De Nor side.
