CHC Men's 1st XI won their opening game of the league campaign on Tuesday night against a well organised Avoca team.
The reds got off to a dominate start, enjoying the majority share of possession. After spells of patient build up, they took the lead as Jack Perdue pounced on a loose ball to rocket home the opener. Avoca worked hard to get back into the game and before half time had a couple of corners, which were well defended, meaning CHC took a 1-0 lead into half time.
The second half was very much like the first half, Corinthians enjoyed the majority share of the ball with no real outcomes in the final third. Ian Stewart had a well-executed drag flick taken off the line by the post man, before David Howard powered home a drag flick of his own to make it 2-0.
Overall it was a very solid performance by Corinthian’s, who will be looking to continue this momentum into the weekend as they travel to Kilkenny.
