Corinthian’s had the perfect start, scoring a corner inside the first two minutes thanks to David Howard. However, the lead didn’t last too long, with Kilkenny stealing the ball in midfield and with a quick counter attack scored. Shortly after, Corinthian’s found themselves 2-1 down after a crash ball into their circle was nicely deflected in by a Kilkenny forward. Tom Gibbs equalized for Corinthian's with the goal of the game. It was a well worked move ending with Gibbs smashing a reverse into the top corner. Kilkenny went into half time 3-2 up, after they attacked down the right-hand side, driving in on the end line and pulling it back for a tap in.
Corinthian’s started the second half a lot stronger, David Howard got the equalizer from a well worked corner. The big turning point in the game came when Kilkenny had a corner saved onto the post, and failed to score the rebound which looked impossible to miss. From the resulting hit out, Corinthian’s took it quick and scored a very well worked counter attack. Tom Gibbs played a nice one two with Jack Perdue before sweeping home his second of the game making it 4-3 to Corinthian’s. Two more drag flicks from Ian Stewart and David Howard sealed the game making the final score 6-3.
