Friday night saw the U14 boys play Railway Union in the U14B Cup Semifinal at home, Railway got off to a flying start with 2 early goals getting past the defense and the best efforts of keeper Jude O Dwyer leaving Corinthian boys playing catchup all the way, but play wasn't entirely one-sided and a short corner goal from Conor Walsh left the half time score at 2-1 to Railway. Yet again a quick chat from coach Neil Mackay worked wonders and the second half saw the boys hugely improved but another 2 goals for Railway had us 4-1 down with 10 minutes to go. A second Corinthian goal by Simon Comerford just wasn't enough before the final whistle blew with a final score of 4-2 to Railway. An honorable semifinal loss for a young team, but good practice for the League Final this Friday, again against Railway, but we have the measure of them now so heads up and use the right side!!
